Palos Fine Arts Scholarships 2014 Announced


Kailyn Slater, Junior at Sandburg, outstanding in visual arts will attend High School Summer Intensive program at Columbia College to study "Foundations of Digital Art". She would like to Columbia after graduation and major in Secondary Art Ed, focusing on Photography/Digital Media

Kaley Lorch, Senior at Shepard, outstanding in dance will attend Rhodos Summer Intensive at the Druckeer Center in Chicago. She will attend MVCC and then on to get a degree in dance while continuing to attend classes at Beverly Art Center & Lou Conte Dance Studio

Larry Lesniak, Junior at Shepard, outstanding in music, jazz guitarist will enroll in private instructional classes at Columbia's Sherwood Conservatory. He would like to pursue an advanced music degree upon graduation.

Elizabeth Poynton, Junior at Stagg, outstanding vocalist has been accepted into the National Catholic Youth Choir at St. John's University in Collegeville, Mn. She aspires to study liturgical music in college.

The 2014 Donna O'Brien Memorial Scholarship is awarded to:

Rebecca Acklin, Senior at Sandburg, outstanding in the visual arts She has been accepted into Illinois Wesleyan University to begin her double major studies in art and music composition this fall to ultimately become a graphic designer.
